3. Design Criteria (Critères de conception)

Route reflection was designed to satisfy the following criteria.

La réflexion de route a été conçue pour satisfaire aux critères suivants.

• Simplicity (Simplicité)

  Any alternative must be simple to configure and easy to understand.

  Toute alternative doit être simple à configurer et facile à comprendre.

• Easy Transition (Transition facile)

  It must be possible to transition from a full-mesh configuration without the need to change either topology or AS. This is an unfortunate management overhead of the technique proposed in [3].

  Il doit être possible de passer d'une configuration à maillage complet sans avoir besoin de changer ni la topologie ni l'AS. C’est un coût de gestion regrettable de la technique proposée dans [3].

• Compatibility (Compatibilité)

  It must be possible for noncompliant IBGP peers to continue to be part of the original AS or domain without any loss of BGP routing information.

  Il doit être possible pour des pairs IBGP non conformes de continuer à faire partie de l'AS ou du domaine d'origine sans aucune perte d'informations de routage BGP.

These criteria were motivated by operational experiences of a very large and topology-rich network with many external connections.
