Abstract
This document specifies the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6 (DHCPv6). DHCPv6 enables IPv6 hosts and networks to obtain configuration parameters, such as addresses, delegated prefixes, and other operational information, from DHCPv6 servers.
As an Internet Standard, RFC 9915 is a core reference for DHCPv6 protocol behavior across clients, servers, and relay agents. It describes message exchanges, option handling, stateful configuration, and operational considerations for IPv6 network configuration.
