Abstract​

This document specifies Prefix Registration for IPv6 Neighbor Discovery. It defines how a router can register an IPv6 prefix with another router so that the prefix is made reachable through IPv6 Neighbor Discovery procedures. The mechanism is intended for constrained and low-power networks, including 6LoWPAN deployments, where explicit prefix ownership and reachability need to be maintained efficiently.
