8. Security Considerations

本文整体关注 traffic security. QProt 设计为在 flow-state 或 processing resources 被攻击时 graceful failure. ATTEMPTS=2 且 NBUCKETS=32 时, 大约 94 条 attack flows 可使新到 flow 以 99% 概率共享 dregs bucket. 默认 aging rate 为 4 Mb/s, 100 flows 意味着超过 100 * 4 Mb/s = 400 Mb/s 的攻击强度. 增加 NBUCKETS 和 whole-flow redirection 可缓解, 但 whole-flow discard 不推荐.
