2. Extensions to the Handshake Protocol (握手协议扩展)

本文档在 RFC 5246 第 7.4.1.4 节描述的 client hello 和 server hello extension 机制基础上定义若干新 extension.

除 RFC 5246 指定的 extension 外, hello message 中还可以包含本文档定义的附加子结构. 为保持清晰, 本文档使用与 RFC 5246 相同的 notation 和基本结构.

TLS 1.2 的基础结构没有改变. TLS message structure, cipher suite 的数量和名称, 以及 record layer 均保持不变.
