5. IANA Considerations

RFC 9965 updates .ARPA Zone Management and creates the EAP Provisioning Identifiers registry.

5.1. .arpa Updates

The eap-noob.arpa entry is marked (DEPRECATED) and gains a reference to RFC 9965.

DOMAIN: eap.arpa
USAGE/REFERENCE: For provisioning within the Extensible
Authentication Protocol framework. RFC 9965

Name: eap.arpa.
Reference: RFC 9965

DNS servers SHOULD return NXDOMAIN for eap.arpa. domain queries. IANA is instructed to refuse future direct .ARPA Zone Management allocations for EAP-related functionality; such allocations should use the EAP Provisioning Identifiers registry.
