1. Introduction

This document defines policy for including Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) in definitive RFC versions and relevant publication formats defined by [RFC9720].

It carries forward policy requirements from [RFC7996], while removing requirements that depend on a specific SVG profile or implementation code. SVG is developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as described by [SVG].

The RFC Production Center (RPC) is responsible for decisions about SVG tooling and implementation. The RPC may use [RFC7996] as a starting point, but is not bound by it. The RPC may change implementation details as needed to support RFC authors, as long as those changes remain aligned with this document's policy requirements.
