Abstract​

This document defines an attribute that can be used to make a statement of possession of a private key. The attribute is intended for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) contexts where entities need to convey evidence or assertions related to possession of the corresponding private key.

The specification supports interoperable representation of this statement in certificate-management and related security protocols.
