5. IANA Considerations

This section documents the IANA considerations for PIM-SM.

5.1. PIM Address Family

IANA maintains a registry for PIM Address Family numbers. This specification uses Address Family Numbers as defined in the "Address Family Numbers" registry.

5.2. PIM Hello Options

IANA maintains a registry for PIM Hello Options. This specification defines several Hello Options that are used in PIM Hello messages to negotiate capabilities and exchange router-specific information.
