7. Receiving Multicast IP Datagrams

This section specifies the extensions required to receive multicast IP datagrams. Included are extensions to the IP service interface and to the IP module, and extensions to local network modules for networks that directly support IP multicasting. This section applies only to hosts that support group membership and reception of multicast datagrams (i.e., level 2 hosts).
