3. Workshop Scope and Discussion

The workshop was structured around three sessions: Past, Present, and Future. Session I reviewed RFC 3535, lessons from SNMP, NETCONF, YANG, RESTCONF, CORECONF, OpenConfig, and related operational experience. Session II focused on current operator pain points, including fragmented ecosystems, tooling, data models, telemetry, and operational barriers. Session III discussed possible future directions, recommendations, and next steps.
