参与者认为, preference statement 与 preference application 之间的断裂会造成 ecosystem 缺乏 trust. 其他原因包括 LLMs 中 data sources 的 attribution 不足, publishers 贡献 data 的 incentives 不足, 以及尤其缺乏 monitoring compliance with preferences 的方法.

有人质疑, 在没有 enforcement 或 audit 的情况下, 仅 communicating preferences 是否足够. 也有人指出, 缺乏 trust 是越来越多 AI crawler IP addresses 被 blocking 的主要原因.
