6.1. IPv4 over IPv6 Core

本文档定义的 extensions 可按 [RFC5565] 中讨论的方式, 用于通过 IPv6 backbone 互连 IPv4 islands. 在该应用中, Address Family Border Routers (AFBRs; 如 [RFC4925] 中定义) 在 MP_REACH_NLRI 中通告 IPv4 NLRI 以及 IPv6 next hop.

MP_REACH_NLRI 编码如下:

  • AFI = 1

  • SAFI = 1

  • Length of Next Hop Address field = 16 (or 32)

  • Next Hop Address = IPv6 address of the next hop

  • NLRI = IPv4 routes

在 BGP Capability Advertisement 期间, PE routers 会在 Capabilities Optional Parameter 中包含以下 fields:

  • Capability Code set to "Extended Next Hop Encoding"
