3. AS_CONFED Segment Type 扩展 (AS_CONFED Segment Type Extension)

目前, BGP 规定 AS_PATH attribute 是一个 well-known mandatory attribute, 由一系列 AS path segments 组成. 每个 AS path segment 由三元组 <path segment type, path segment length, path segment value> 表示.

在 [BGP-4] 中, path segment type 是一个 1-octet field, 定义了以下两个值:

Value 1: AS_SET UPDATE message 中某条 route 已经过的 autonomous systems 的有序集合

Value 2: AS_SEQUENCE UPDATE message 中某条 route 已经过的 autonomous systems 的有序集合

本文档规定两个额外的 segment types:

Value 3: AS_CONFED_SEQUENCE UPDATE message 已经过的本地 confederation 中 Member Autonomous Systems 的有序集合

Value 4: AS_CONFED_SET UPDATE message 已经过的本地 confederation 中 Member Autonomous Systems 的无序集合
