1. Introduction

DMARC builds on SPF and DKIM to let Mail Receivers evaluate whether an email's Authenticated Identifiers align with the RFC5322.From Author Domain. Domain Owners and Public Suffix Operators can publish DMARC Policy Records to express monitoring or enforcement preferences and request feedback.

This RFC updates the original DMARC specification and the PSD extension by obsoleting RFC 7489 and RFC 9091. It is part of the DMARC document set with RFC 9990 for aggregate reporting and RFC 9991 for failure reporting.
