Appendix A. DSCP Re-marking Policies
Appendix A discusses policy choices for DSCP re-marking. Re-marking can be used at network boundaries, especially where NQB traffic enters domains that do not support Differentiated Services or where preserving DSCP 45 would create incentives or interoperability problems.
The appendix distinguishes blanket re-marking to Default from more selective policies that preserve NQB when safeguards such as traffic protection, shaping, or local agreements are present. Its purpose is operational guidance, not a new IANA action.
