4.4. Specifying URLs

In HTTP, the majority of focus for a given application is on resource URLs. As explained in Section 3.2, applications SHOULD NOT constrain the structure of URLs used with HTTP.

However, specifications do need to specify how resources are identified -- that is, how the URLs are discovered by clients. This can be done in a number of ways.
