8. Concluding ICE Processing

This section describes how to complete ICE processing and select the final candidate pair for communication.

8.1. Procedures for Full Implementation

8.1.1. Nominating Pairs

The controlling agent is responsible for nominating candidate pairs. Once a connectivity check succeeds for a candidate pair, the controlling agent can decide to nominate that pair.

Nomination is done by including the USE-CANDIDATE attribute in the STUN Binding request.

8.1.2. Updating States

Once a candidate pair is nominated and the associated connectivity check succeeds, that pair becomes the selected pair used for data transmission for that component.
