14. Setting Ta and RTO

This section describes how to set timing parameters for connectivity checks.

14.1. Ta (Check Pacing Timer)

Ta is the timer that controls the rate at which connectivity checks are sent. The recommended Ta value is calculated based on the number of candidate pairs.

14.2. RTO (Retransmission Timeout)

RTO is the retransmission timeout for STUN transactions. The initial RTO value is recommended to be 500ms.
