6.4.6. Resolution

This section is optional and describes how to resolve URNs in the namespace. If provided, it needs to explain:

  1. Resolution mechanism: What protocol or service is used to resolve URNs
  2. Resolution service location: URL or access method for the resolution service
  3. Resolution results: What type of information will resolution return
  4. Resolution performance: Expected response time and availability
  5. Resolution policy: How to handle URNs that cannot be resolved

Not all URN namespaces need to provide resolution services. If not provided, this should be explicitly stated.
