6.4.2. Syntax

This section must define the syntax rules for the namespace-specific string (NSS). It needs to include:

  1. ABNF syntax definition: Define the NSS structure using ABNF format
  2. Character set restrictions: Specify which characters are allowed
  3. Length limitations: Minimum and maximum length of the NSS
  4. Structural description: If the NSS has internal structure, explain it in detail
  5. Examples: Provide concrete examples of valid URNs

The syntax definition must conform to the overall URN syntax requirements of RFC 8141.
