5. IANA Considerations

This section specifies IANA registries and assignments for PIM-SM.

5.1. PIM Address Family

PIM uses Address Family numbers from the IANA "Address Family Numbers" registry. IPv4 is address family 1, IPv6 is address family 2.

5.2. PIM Hello Options

PIM Hello Options are maintained in the "PIM-Hello Options" registry. Key options include: Holdtime (1), LAN Prune Delay (2), DR Priority (19), Generation ID (20), Address List (24).
