3.5. Source-Specific Prunes

IGMPv3 also allows receivers to join a group and specify they want to receive traffic except from specific sources. This enables source filtering on the shared tree.

Process:

• (*,G) Join with Prunes: DR performs normal (*,G) Join for the group
• (S,G,rpt) Prune: Combined with Prunes for each unwanted source
• Filtered Traffic: Receivers get all sources except the pruned ones
