6. IANA Considerations

This document updates the registrations that appeared in RFC 4021, which references the definitions in RFC 2822. IANA has updated the Permanent Message Header Field Repository with the following header fields according to the procedures set out in RFC 3864.

IANA Registration Process

This specification follows the Permanent Message Header Field registration procedures defined in RFC 3864:

Summary

RFC 5322 registers 23 standard header fields and 1 obsolete field with IANA, updating the previous RFC 2822 registrations. All registrations follow procedures defined in RFC 3864 and are maintained in IANA's Permanent Message Header Field Repository.
