9. IANA Considerations

9.1. ICMPv6 Message Types​

IANA has assigned the following ICMPv6 message types:

  • 130: Multicast Listener Query
  • 143: Version 2 Multicast Listener Report

9.2. Maximum Response Code​

The Maximum Response Code field in the Multicast Listener Query message is defined in Section 3.1.4. No new registry is required.

9.3. Address Record Types​

IANA has created a new registry for "MLDv2 Address Record Types". The values 1 through 6 are defined in this document. Values 0 and 7 through 255 are available for assignment.
