5.6. Sequence Number Payload

The Sequence Number (SEQ) payload provides replay protection for GROUPKEY-PUSH messages by including a monotonically increasing sequence number.

Function

• Prevents replay attacks on rekey messages
• Validates message ordering
• Maintains synchronization between GCKS and group members
