Command responder applications should use IPX socket 36879 (hexadecimal 900f) for listening for requests. Command generator applications should use IPX socket 36880 (hexadecimal 9010) for listening for notification messages.

When an agent is operating as a proxy agent, it should use IPX socket 36879. When configured by the local network administration, sockets in the range of 36864 (hexadecimal 9000) to 65535 (hexadecimal ffff) may be used.
